A Jefferson Underground Wedding: Jessica & Kurtis

Ah ... the Midwest. It's hot. Then it's cold. And this time, it was cold on the wedding day of a fabulous young St. Louis couple, Jessica and Kurtis! They were planning to tie the knot on a popular rooftop of a renovated art-deco building in the heart of St. Louis. A quick history ... General Motors Corporation purchased the property in 1920 to build St. Louis main Chevrolet dealership. Fast forward to 2002, and renovation begins to restore the building to it's original state. Fun fact: 95% of the materials used to create the rooftop space are recycled, and most of it picked up from trash/dumpsters from the area, including granite, stone, metal, bar equipment, tables, chairs, etc. How cool is that? Needless to say, the ceremony ended up being indoors due to cold temperatures, but it was still gorgeous!

Being a part of this wedding was a blast. But getting to know the Bride and Groom, Jessica and Kurtis, was a special pleasure. One of the best things about being a wedding photographer is learning about the special couple you are photographing. You learn their story. You pick up on how much they love each other. What things make them grin or embarrassed. What things make them shy. And you also learn behind-the-scene notes on items/ideas that are incorporated into the wedding and the sentimental meaning they hold dearly to the most important people of the day. We especially loved the blue heart stitched by Jessica's mother, Jane, into the back of her wedding dress, and the table display in memory of Jessica's father. Jessica and Kurtis created an extra level of specialness to their wedding day. And let’s be honest, both of us had several teary-eyed moments throughout the day as we were looking through our cameras.

As you can see, Jessica truly glowed on her wedding day! She was absolutely stunning! Even Kurtis couldn't resist smiling nonstop even though he was burnt out on taking pictures!! (Good hangin' in there, trooper!) Their reception was lovely too, and the toasts included a very special gift from the bride's mother.

As we've said before, the moody Midwest weather doesn't always like to play nice ... but that didn't stop our amazing bridal party from getting stellar images!! Such a lovely, eclectic venue that we hope to visit again soon!

It is a pleasure knowing you, Kurtis & Jessica, and we hope to stay in touch through the future!! We hope you have a WONDERFUL honeymoon!!

Congratulations!! ❤️

Nick & Miranda, high school sweethearts tying the knot in 2018!

Hey guys!

Hope you're having a stellar week. We just wanted to give you a break from your busyness to introduce you to the wonderful Nick and Miranda!!

Help us congratulate them on their recent engagement!! CONGRATULATIONS!!

These two lovebirds are getting married in October 2018 in a St. Louis-themed wedding!! What more could you want!? They trekked over to St. Louis from Kansas City, Missouri so we could capture their love in beautiful Downtown St. Louis!

And they did just that.

There were a couple hiccups at City Garden with pink tape everywhere due to the grass just being sprayed, but we still got some really great shots!

Construction at the St. Louis Arch Grounds was no match for this radiant couple.

... and what's more romantic than a photographer photographing the Bride-To-Be and her Groom in the middle of a busy Market Street in Downtown St. Louis??

I must also mention their ambition ... Miranda has a background in event planning, and shared with us her future goal to become a wedding planner. She definitely has a lot going for her! Girl is on top of it! :) Her vision and motivation is very admirable. And she's got a really great man by her side all the way. Their dream is to one day own a small business wedding venue to serve people with a valuable wedding experience!

Oh, back to their pictures ...

We couldn't hold back sharing these beautiful moments at the Riverfront in Downtown St. Louis with the Eads Bridge stretching across the Mississippi River in the background. Can you feel the emotion between Nick and Miranda? We sure can! Wow!

BUT ... their St. Louis themed engagement session (and wedding) wouldn't be complete without some red at Busch Stadium in Cardinal Nation!!

We'd like to give Nick and Miranda a HUGE CONGRATULATIONS on their engagement!!! We are super happy for you and are so excited for your big day!!! See you soon!

Jessica & Kurtis's Engagement Session at Lafayette Park

We first met these two fine looking lovebirds at St. Louis Bread Company a few months back, and instantly found a ton in common, from the love of our dogs to the area we grew up in! Just a couple weeks after meeting, Tiffany was speaking with a woman who turned out to be Jessica's mother, Jane! What a small world! Jane gave Tiffany a peek of Jessica's (gorgeous!) wedding dress, which was really exciting.

This weekend, we were able to pull Kurtis away from his projects and work and got him to share some smiles with us and his beautiful future bride, Jessica. As soon as we met this lovely couple at Lafayette Park in St. Louis, we thought we were going to have an extra helper along for the ride because Jessica ran in to her boss, Mary--who is extremely nice and appeared to have an endless supply of high energy!! She was super excited to get to see Jessica and Kurtis before we all scurried off for engagement pictures. Of course, we had to work around another wedding ceremony and reception taking place at the park, but that was no big deal. It was great weather and we all rocked it!

Kurtis and Jessica, we can't thank you enough for trusting us with your engagement and wedding photography! It's been such a pleasure meeting you and spending some time getting to know you better... and we can't WAIT for your wedding this fall!!

Much Love,

Tiffany & Chris

Blake & Abbie's Engagement Session at Wilmor Sportsman's Club

Aaaaand that’s a wrap!

Last weekend we had the privilege of photographing the love of two of our close friends at the Wilmor Sportsmans Club. As Tiffany and I headed out of St. Louis, we drove through torrential rain, so it was EXTREMELY refreshing to be greeted two and a half hours later with clear skies, beautiful sunshine, genuine smiles and long-lost hugs. The weather turned out perfect! Guess our “rain dance” worked!

Blake and Abbie, you both were SO much fun to work with. We had a blast! Abbie is definitely the firecracker in the relationship (and, don’t tell Blake, but she wears the pants in the relationship too!). Blake is hardworking and loves the outdoors, and although he won’t admit it, he had a blast during our photography session! You’ve got an amazing catch there, Abbie…he’ll be an amazing husband and provider. (And he might even smile every now and then!) Will he be hunting our food for the wedding reception? We’re hoping so… We are so excited for your wedding! It’s going to be … LEGENDARY!!!

Much Love
