Mr + Mrs

This couple. We just love them! If you remember from their engagement session blog, they planned their wedding before they were engaged! —Rockstars— 🌟 We are so excited to share their wedding day blog with you!

Every detail of their day was perfect. So many personal touches. We were told that Maura’s family does nothing without purple, so purple was tied into so many details! Like the purple Hershey’s chocolate kisses!(💜💜💜) Their reception venue, Andre’s West, in old historic downtown Fenton, Missouri, features a patio that was the perfect spot for Brad and Maura’s first look. When the time came, Brad stood on the patio facing away from where Maura was going to walk in. As the waiting for Maura began and she got closer, his emotion started to show. He admitted, “Alright, I think that I might cry.” Moments later, Maura started walking toward him, with pretty much the biggest smile we have ever seen, and she tapped him on the shoulder. The joy, smiles, emotions that followed were beautiful. We won’t confirm or deny whether Brad shed some tears when he saw Maura, but we can assure you we did!

Their ceremony took place at The Jewel Box, an art-deco greenhouse gem in Forest Park, St. Louis, Missouri! It was stunning. The glass walls, high ceilings, and light everywhere created a breathtaking and romantic venue! Filled with greenery, a fountain, and a long aisle, this venue quickly became one of our favorites!

Brad and Maura, we loved spending your special day with you! The people that surround you are incredible! (Seriously!) Everyone was so welcoming, helpful, and kind! We felt as though we were your guests, instead of your photographers. ❤️ Thank you for allowing us to be a part of your incredible day! We are so excited to see how your world unfolds together. The two of you make one fabulous team!

Congratulations, again! Here’s to Mr & Mrs!

4 Life Lessons from the Hummingbird - Swansea, IL (A Throwback from August 2017!)

"With brave wings, she flies......"

Hey friends!

Every winter we look back over what we did and what we learned over the last year. Although winter is a season of life in the Midwest and good ole' St. Louis, Missouri, we absolutely love the warmer months of the year! So, we thought we would take a moment to reflect and share with you one of our spontaneous shoots from August 2017!

🌷 Last August, we had the opportunity to photograph hummingbirds in Swansea, Illinois. If you've never tried to freeze time and capture shots of this speedy creature--it is no easy task! They are FAST, like really fast! Of course, for Chris, that makes it a challenge that he can't resist!

🌻 Hummingbirds are so incredibly complex and unique. That summer day, we fell in love with their vibrant colors, personalities, and their ability to buzz around silently. Our fascination soon turned to contemplation. We saw more than just these little beauties fluttering around us that day. It was watching their process, and thinking beyond simply what hummingbirds are and considering what they symbolize.

Hummingbirds reminded us of a few things:

1. Even though hummingbirds can fly backwards, you usually don't see them do so. This reminds us that we can look back on our past but that we should not dwell on our past. Be joyful. Be brave. Be fearless.

2. When a hummingbirds drinks nectar from a flower, this reminds us that we should savor every sweet moment in life and not take things for granted. Let us all take time to appreciate the people that you love most. Think of something that you're grateful for.

3. Hummingbirds are seemingly tireless. Let this always be a reminder to keep pushing forward. Continually seek out the beauty of the day. Find the positives. And strive to become the best version of yourself.

4. Hummingbirds migrate thousands of miles; a reminder to never give up on your dreams. Accomplish the impossible. Prove them wrong.

🌸 What does Spring mean to you? ((Drop us a comment below!!))

To us, Spring means green grass, mud puddles, rain showers, picnics, open windows, ICE CREAM, flowers, and sunshine! We love seeing nature thrive again as well as all those little critters (like hummingbirds!!!) that reappear! Some areas see hummingbirds as early as mid-March! (Have you seen any of these beauties yet this year??) We hope that as you go into Spring you're able to take time to relax, breathe in the fresh air, and remember lessons from the hummingbird! You are capable of anything!

Happy first week of Spring! Go be unstoppable!

Much love,

Tiffany & Chris

What are you grateful for?

Tomorrow is the day that we take a breather from the treadmill called life to enjoy the pleasures and company that we often take for granted.

Our God that loves us and watches over us. The army of loved ones that surround and support us in the background. The “things” we have that are certainly taken for granted despite our human nature always desiring more. Our clients that we are blessed to serve with our passion for photography. And the opportunity to make an positive impact—no matter how small—on every person we encounter each day.

As you’re traveling to your family's Thanksgiving gathering, whether in the city or the countryside;

As you’re overflowing your plate with turkey, mashed potatoes and green bean casserole (and taco salad if you’re Thanksgiving is spent with Chris Schaefer 😉);

As you’re visiting with your family you see every day or once a year;

As you’re watching Thanksgiving Day football ...

Remember to be present, be joyful, and be grateful.

And for one day let’s be mindful not to take these riches for granted, for our small family gatherings are feasts for kings and queens to millions of less fortunate families in the world.

Some thoughts to ponder:

1) What are three things you are taking for granted right now you can be grateful for?

2) What is one thing you can do this week to make a positive impact on someone else’s life? Even if it’s giving a genuine smile and ‘How are you?’ Or making genuine conversation with the store clerk that has to work Black Friday to put a meal on the table.

Make tomorrow about true Thanksgiving, and remember to exercise this weekend!!

Much Love,
